The Hong Kong protests relates to the concept of radicalism. It protested against the current Hong Kong government since right now Hong Kong has a 1200 person committee that votes on its Chief Executive (Hong Kong’s leader). However, many proponents of the protest want universal suffrage compared to the representative committee in place right now. Also, most of the people in the committee are people sent from China, making the committee less representative. This relates to radicalism since the protesters in Hong Kong want the current government ideology of Communism to change to Democracy. However, the protest is more passive and non-violent; the protesters are just occupying certain roads and peacefully chanting for change. Hong Kong is a special case since economically, it is essentially independent from China since it has its own currency, however, politically, it still follows China. So in the political aspect, the protesters want change.

The governments of Iran and United States made a step towards a nuclear deal that would limit the nuclear program in Iran as militant groups can get to it and use it against the UN coalitions. This relates to the concept of political-economic systems as Iran wants nuclear to protect itself from its neighbors as it is a theocracy. America is a liberal democracy and just wants stabilization in the area. If Iran retaliates against the Israeli government, then the new relationship between America and Iran will be shattered.

This incident between the Nigerian army versus the Boko Haram relates to the concept of ethnic conflict because the Fundamentalist Islamic group, Boko Haram, are using violence and terror to establish their radical Islamic views onto the country. They want to convert the country to entirely Islam and have attack schools and Christian churches to ensure this. This conflict is a good example of "Bottom-Up" ethnic conflict as a small, local group militants in the NE region of the country gained followers from the region and then spread their influences farther and farther out.

This article talks about the Mexico Federal Competition Commission, which is investigating plans to build a high speed railway because of possible corruption. This relates to the concept of regulation, as the anti-trust commission is trying to to make it more economically "fair" for everybody. However, it should be noted that the commission is criticizing the state for its lack of regulation, when normally, the state sets the rules to regulate the economy.
