Controversy!

In the UK controversy is erupting over gay marriage, Chinese citizens are outraged by more blatant police corruption, Iran is sending Ahmadinejad into Egypt and Nigerians wonder how sending troops into Mali would benefit them.

  1. The Chinese article was interesting because it demonstrate the corruption of the Chinese government. The Chinese policeman that bought 192 homes with a fake ID is newsworthy because it warns people that this type of corruption is occurring.

    1. This is all true, but what if the Communist party still retains him in their ranks? Will this be sufficient evidence to oust him from the party? Or will the state and the party try to save face by covering this up and saying that he was acting within his legal rights (in managing the properties for his brother)? We shall see!

  2. Fun fact: Orwellian means something that pertains to George orwell, who was considered destructive to a free society.

Anyways, guess it's time to rewrite the legal dictionary. Same-sex couples can consummate and commit adultery just as a heterosexual couple. I think it is ridiculous to blame the inability for same-sex marriage laws on something as trivial as that. Kudos to Cameron for trying to help such laws while also backing it up with an understandable argument.

  3. The Iranian article was not as newsworthy as the rest. It was mostly about the back and forth between Sen McCain and his critics.
