Parents and guardians,

We will be watching the HBO movie “The Special Relationship” in class on Friday February 10^th.  This movie is a dramatization about Tony Blair’s relationships with Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, when Blair was the prime minister of the United Kingdom.  This will help the students better understand the “special relationship” (the movie is quite aptly named) that exists between the UK and the US, especially in the 90s.  The relationship between the US and the UK is an ongoing policy concern for the UK and therefore I believe it will be very useful in understanding the political undertones that drive this relationship.  By signing this you are giving consent for your child to view the movie.  If you do not want your child to watch this movie, I will have an alternative assignment ready for them.  Thank you very much!
